 About the Author

Roberta Marsh was raised with seven siblings during the 1940’s and 50’s in Kokomo, Indiana.  She decided to become a teacher at age 10, inspired by her favorite fourth grade teacher, Ms. Finney.  From the outset, her long-range goal was to help others, and make a difference in the world. Developing a curriculum for children with communicative disorders was second nature to Roberta, whose educational philosophy was in keeping with the needs of special children.

Teaching all areas of special and regular education at both elementary and middle school levels provided valuable insights into how children develop the confidence to succeed. Also, Roberta soon realized that children found learning most enjoyable when it was fun---and when they were given to understand that they mattered to their teacher in unique and special ways.

Roberta’s husband, Ron, ever supportive of her efforts, helped make materials for individual students, as did her three sons, mother, colleagues, and a number of students’ parents.

Through the years, Roberta Marsh has received numerous awards, including Special Education Teacher of the Year and Regular Education Teacher of the year in Tempe, AZ. In addition, she has been recognized by Who’s Who in American Education, Who’s Who in America, and Who’s Who in the World.
